I am from Denmark and I have been a phillumenist since the mid 1960s.
The matchboxlabels that cought my attention was not the danish labels with our national hero TORDENSKJOLD, but some nice and interesting labels importet from Finland. It was e.g. labels with men in uniform, famous buildings, indians, national costums and fairy tales written by Danmarks world famous Hans Chr. Andersen. Through the years I have been joining matchbox collectors societies and exchanging worldwide.
I have turned down exchanging, as the postage has gradually become too expensive. But I still have a lot of sorting to do as I got some large collections from danish collectors who sadly passed away. I hope you will enjoy looking at the examples I have found for this exhibiton from my collection.
